Dirty Laundry. It’s dirtier than you think.
Have you ever wondered what goes out of your washing machine? Most of us are taught to buy bamboo and organic cotton for our newborns, but other than feeling soft on their delicate skin, it also causes less harm to our planet.
Polyester, which dominates 60% of the clothing materials globally, is responsible for one-third of all microplastics polluting our water. Not only does this pollute our environment, but it makes its way into our own bodies too. One of the most concerning health issues with plastics is the nano-particles we consume; if they stay inside our bodies, and release toxins overtime.
Next time we shop, let’s be more mindful on what the clothes are made of, and challenge ourselves to have a lesser impact on our laundry.
